Shaughna Phillips was reduced to tears as she opened up about witnessing her late dad’s cancer battle when she was younger.

The 26-year-old former Love Island star is one of a host of celebrities that decided to bare all on ITV’s The Real Full Monty on Ice.

However, the television personality also had a tear-jerking motive for signing up to the challenge.

The show is geared about raising awareness at checking for cancer, which is a disease that sadly claimed her dad’s life four years earlier.

In emotional scenes on tonight’s show, Shaughna became tearful as she heard mothers that had battles breast cancer as they spoke about their children.

Speaking as the child of a parent that had battled cancer, Shaughna thanked the women for their bravery.

Shaughna started crying as she opened up about her dad

“Sorry I’m a bit of a mess. My dad died of cancer and I’m so glad that your kids have still got you,” she said.

“I know its like a battle having all the treatment and having all the surgery but I can speak from a child’s point of view that your kids will thank you so much for fighting the hardest battle of your life.”

Shaughna continued: “My dad always used to say if he didn’t have me or my brother, he’d never have had any treatment.

The television star thanked the brave women in front of her

“He only had it for us and I wish I had more of an opportunity thankyou. So I want to say thank-you on behalf of your kids.”

Shaughna’s dad was just 49-years-old when he was diagnosed and tragically died in December 2016.

Her touching message came after a group of burlesque dancers, that had all faced breast cancer, showed the female celebrities their mastectomy scars.
