Sam’s Captain America Battles US Agent In New Falcon Art

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fan art imagines a proper battle between Sam’s new Captain America and John Walker’s U.S. Agent. After five weekly episodes, the Marvel Studios show has now released its finale, which was properly set up by its penultimate outing. That includes Sam and Walker assuming different public personas, but still finding themselves on the opposite side of the fence.

Sam’s decision to pass up the opportunity to wield the shield despite Steve Rogers personally choosing him as his successor paved the way for Walker to be Captain America. Appointed by the government, the new Star-Spangled Avenger was embraced by the public. However, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier viewers were not thrilled with him. While he was a decent guy at the beginning, it was only a matter of time before he did something outright villainous, and that came at the end of episode 4 when he murdered a member of the Flag-Smashers in broad daylight. This motivated Sam to finally pick up the shield, while Walker dealt with the fallout of besmirching the Captain America name.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 6 featured some resolution for Sam as he assumes his rightful place as the MCU’s new Captain America. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t face Walker’s U.S. Agent as an antagonist in the future. Digital artist dgalexkovalenko offers their take on the clash in a new piece of fan art. Check it out below:

The final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was set in New York City as the Flag-Smashers became bolder with their moves to derail the GRC’s plans. This motivated both Sam and Walker to show themselves to get the situation under control. However, it also highlighted the difference in their approaches. It seems likely there will be another battle between the two in the future, with Sam likely unwilling to forget Walker’s more villainous actions anytime soon. This art does a great job imagining what a direct fight would look like.

It’s safe to say that after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam will properly be the MCU’s new Captain America. However, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Walker, if anything. His brief interactions with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine hint there’s still a future for him in the franchise as he officially becomes U.S. Agent. As dangerous as the character is, Wyatt Russell has also been phenomenal in the role, and it will be a shame if this is the last viewers see of him.
