Matthew Perry concerns Friends fans with ‘slurred’ speech during reunion promo

Matthew Perry’s speech and behaviour on a promo video for the Friends reunion has caused concern among his fans.

The actor, famous for playing the character Chandler, Bing appeared to slur his words and had a gazing stare in the video for the eagerly awaited reunion.

The video of the cast, including the 51-year-old, broke on Wednesday as they continue to promote the highly anticipated HBO Max special, which airs on May 27.

But while the video excited fans many took to social media to raise their concern about Matthew.

He was appearing alongside former co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc as they spoke about finally being back together to shoot the legendary sitcom one more time.

At one point, Matthew’s words sounded slightly slurred as he answered a question regarding souvenirs from the set.

He previously told People that things got “out of control and very unhealthy” after a 1997 jet-ski accident left him addicted to the painkiller Vicodin.

In a 2016 interview with Radio 2, Matthew confessed that he didn’t remember three years of the show and said he “was a little out of it.”
