Love Island’s Jake Cornish admits huge crush on ‘respectful’ Molly-Mae Hague

Love Island hunk Jake Cornish has gushed over former islander Molly-Mae Hague.

The 24-year-old water engineer from Weston-super-Mare told the Mirror that’s he’s got a soft spot for blondes, and when it comes to previous Love Island babes, bombshell Molly-Mae is at the top of his crush list.

Jake, who is hoping to find ‘true love’ in the villa, revealed his type is ‘girls with blonde hair and blue eyes’.

He admitted that if he was to go back and couple up with any former Love Island bombshell, he’d be stepping on Tommy Fury’s toes to get to social media star Molly who has since gone on to become one of the most successful stars from the ITV reality show.

“There are a few girls. Everyone is each to their own and everyone is different, but I typically go for girls with blonde hair and blue eyes.

“I really liked the way that Molly-Mae was in the villa. She was a bit of me.

“She was very honest and she acted like a total lady. I like how respectful she was.”

Lifting the lid on what he looks for in a partner, Jake said that he’s setting his sights on someone who is chilled but also likes to let their hair down on the weekends.

“I want to find someone who I can have a laugh with, and someone who likes to have a good time,” the Love Island hopeful revealed.

“I like a girl who is going to put their pyjamas on during the week and chill out. Someone who doesn’t care about what they’re going to do and then at the weekend, they want to let their hair down, get dolled up, and enjoy a night out.

“A lady in the streets, a freak in the sheets type of girl,” he laughed.

Entering the Love Island villa will be Jake’s first step to finding new love and a happy ever after, following a lockdown in which he spent time alone due to his seven-year romance ending.

While he’s had plenty of opportunity in the romance department over the last couple of months, Jake has his mind set on finding a girl with good morals and a loyal nature.

“The main thing for me is having respect and having good fun, and someone who will be loyal to you.

“I’ve had messages from girls that have got boyfriends and husbands. This is why I don’t trust anyone. Someone who is loyal really.”

Speaking about his past romances ahead of the show beginning next week, Jake said being dumped in lockdown motivated him to want to take part in the show.

He said: “I was in a relationship for seven years and then when lockdown hit, I was single.”

Looking ahead to the reality contest, he added: “The opportunity is there, you might as well take it by the horns and go for it.”

The new series is due to kick off on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
