Love Island stars’ families ‘will enter the villa if they’re double-jabbed’

Love Island contestants will be in for a shock as their parents come and pay them a visit and give them some home truths.

The iconic parents’ visit episode is just around the corner, and no doubt some of the more fragile couples – Faye and Teddy, Jake and Liberty and Millie and Liam – will be very nervous.

There have been rumours that parents might appear via Zoom due to Majorca being on the UK’s Amber Travel List, but it’s claimed that if the families are double-jabbed they can go to the villa themselves.

In the episode, the families are given the chance to have a chat with their son or daughter and tell them what they really think about who they’re coupled up with.

Fans have said that Faye Winter and Liam Reardon may be in for a particular shock when meeting the parents as they have upset their partners in previous episodes.

A source told The Sun: “It’s always the most tense day of the series and Millie and Teddy’s parents will have seen a lot on TV that their kids don’t know about. In fact, all of the friends and family will have outsider gossip to tell the cast, so a lot of them should be very nervous – Jake included.

“The plan is to fly out the families to Spain if they’re double jabbed and happy to travel within the rules. Then there will be a socially-distanced meeting – and there will be fireworks.”

Due to Covid restrictions it was not known whether parents would be able to appear in person this year.

There was a similar situation with Casa Amor but this was able to go ahead as usual.

It is thought that the parents’ visit will be in the penultimate episode, which will air on Sunday 22 August.

The parents episode usually airs during the final week of the show.

It is believed that the majority of parents will be flying to the island in-person, but an exception was made for actor Danny Dyer in 2019 when he appeared via video link.

ITV2 have not yet revealed specifically which parents will be visiting their offspring.

Some contestants opt for siblings to come and visit them instead of parents.

In series five Molly-Mae Hague’s sister Zoe Hague and their mum visited, with her mum revealing she’d gotten engaged while Molly-Mae was in the villa.
