Overjoyed by the prospect of a new Chaser, fans flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on who it might be.

Many viewers have been speculating that former contestant Darragh Ennis may have bagged the highly sought-after role due to the fact he teased he would one day be a Chaser.

The Chase have not yet confirmed who the new Chaser is

One Instagram user penned: “This is so exciting. I really can’t wait to see who it is!”.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s going to be that chap Darragh. It even looks like him” another suggested.

Meanwhile, a third fan commented: “So excited to see who it is. Come on and tell us already!”.

Darragh wowed audiences back in 2017

“The wait is almost over! It’s Darragh guys!” a fourth added.

Back in 2017, Darragh wowed audiences when he battled it out against Paul Sinnerman Sinha.

A true quiz whiz, the clever contestant ended up taking home a whopping £9,000 for his team, which made him one of the most memorable guests in recent years.

ITV gameshow The Chase are adding a sixth member to the clan

Darragh, who is originally from Ireland, previously teased that he was “really excited to be the 6th chaser” on the programme.

Paul Sinha also appeared to confirm the news after he referred to Darragh as “the best player” he’s ever come across on the ITV show.

Whatever the outcome, it looks as though fans won’t have too long to wait.
