Boy George addresses rumours he bedded Prince after their ‘iconic conversation’

Boy George was keen to clear up the rumours that he once slept with Prince as he made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday night.

Boy George, 59, chatted to Jonathan alongsideGreat British Bake Off judge Prue Leith, rapper-turned-chef Big Zuu and comedian Joanne McNally.

The conversation soon turned to some of the comments Boy George has made about fellow singers in the past, and Jonathan was keen to read some out.

After Jonathan referred to one that was about the legendary singer Prince, he asked him: “You must have met Prince?”

“I loved Prince,” Boy George replied. “I met Prince and he didn’t speak for 15 minutes and it was still the most iconic conversation I’ve ever had.

“I met him in Paris and he wanted to meet me, then when I sat down he didn’t say a word, he just stared at me and I wanted the floor to swallow me.

“I walked away and I said, ‘well that was really interesting’. He definitely wasn’t a let down, he was completely outrageous,” Boy George added.

Jonathan then quizzed Boy George about the rumours that he had once slept with the Purple Rain hitmaker, who sadly passed away in April 2016.

Laughing, Boy George replied: “No! When I was doing The Voice, Paloma [Faith] said, ‘oh I worked with him’, and I said, ‘Oh I slept with him’, just to kind of outdo her, I said, ‘I slept with a poster of him under my bed’.

“Obviously he was my contemporary as well, I’m a massive Prince fan,” the former Culture Club singer added.

Elsewhere on the show, Boy George confirmed that he is currently single but is “on the market”.
