And Just Like That…the Sex and the City cast celebrate grey hair in first look

The ladies of Sex and the City are proving they are ageing like fine wine as filming gets underway on the sequel series And Just Like That…

First look photos from the set of the hotly anticipated comedy drama show original stars Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker embracing greys as they return to their iconic characters of Miranda Hobbs and Carrie Bradshaw.

While Kristin Davis – who plays Charlotte York in the shows – looks refreshed with her auburn hair as the trio wander down a New York street in unison as filming the sequel series continues.

And it seems the ageing process will be addressed as the cast and characters return to Manhattan 17 years after the original series ended.

People magazine reports: “Nixon could be seen with her chic silver strands in a sleek pixie cut, while Parker let a few bits of grey hair emerge from her roots.”

Photographs from the set of the sequel series show 55-year-old Cynthia and 56-year-old SJP looking distinguished with their greying hair.

Cynthia’s once trademark red hair is now a sleek silver bob, and SJP has allowed layers of grey to shine through her glossy, honey coloured locks.

While 56-year-old Kristin looked elegant with her own dark hair cascading around her shoulders.

Fans of the original series will be thrilled to see the ladies back on the streets of Manhattan in typically stylish fashion – with the stars of the show back in designer threads and looking classy as ever.

One noticeable difference between the new series and the original show is the lack of Kim Cattrall – who played iconic man eater Samantha Jones.

The 64-year-old star turned down the chance to reprise her role on the new series amid long-running reports that she did not get on well with her co-stars.

However, recent reports have suggested the English-born Canadian-American actress may ‘regret’ turning down the chance to return to the role that made her a household name for millions.

A source told Heat magazine last month: “Kim does have some regrets.

“Of course Kim’s proud to have stood up for herself, and she makes no bones about her experience the show and the, at times, toxic behaviour [of her co-stars]. But it’s still not easy to see the ladies all reunited and smiling.

The new series is set to debut on HBO Max before the end of 2021

“There’s a real sense of regret about how it all got this ugly. For all the bad times, there were also wonderful moments and it’s the role that defines her career in many way.”

Plot details of the revival series are being closely guarded so it is unclear if Kim’s role on the show has been left open should she opt to return to the sequel series as Samantha in a future season.

And Just Like That… began production in New York City last month – and the series is set to premiere on HBO Max before the end of the year.
