Love Island’s Matthew forgives Kaz after telling her ‘we’re done’ over Tyler drama

Love Island’s Matthew MacNabb has revealed he thinks he will be ‘great friends’ with Kaz Kamwi once the ITV2 show has finished.

The hunky Irishman sensationally told Kaz: “We’re done,” when he realised she was still interested in Tyler Cruickshank, but it seems that’s all water under the bridge now.

After being dumped from the Spanish villa at the end of Wednesday’s episode, Matthew was asked if he initially thought him and Kaz had a good connection.

“Absolutely – I felt me and Kaz had a really good connection,” he replied.

“She’s an amazing girl and I think we’re going to be great friends. The more I saw her and Tyler, they had so much of a better connection than me and Kaz had so I’m happy for both of them because they’re great people,” Matthew added.

When quizzed about there being a romantic connection with any of the other girls, Matthew said: “I felt like it was pretty much Kaz from the start.

“I did like Millie if I’m honest but I didn’t want to get involved in that situation and I’m happy I didn’t because we’re good friends and I love Liam.”

Speaking about how he feels about being dumped, Matthew replied: “Ultimately, the outstanding emotion I get is that I’m proud. I feel proud of the journey I went on and I stayed true to myself.

“I met some amazing people there that I’ll be friends with for life. I feel very positive about the whole situation, I’m happy.

“I’ve learnt that my principles can’t be broken. I don’t change for anybody and I stayed true to myself so I suppose resilience. I’ve definitely become a better person and I’m open to change,” he added.

Asked if he would have done anything differently, Matthew said: “I’m a no regrets type of guy. You learn from what you go through and I’m very proud of myself and how I’ve acted and how I’ve treated people.

“I think the course of action I took led me to where I am now and I’m happy with where I am.”

Matthew looked gutted when newcomer Priya chose to couple up with bombshell Brett in the latest re-coupling.

Announcing her decision, the medical student said: “Well, to be honest it’s been a really tough decision because two incredible boys have both shown interest.

“But I feel like with one of the boys, conversation flows really easily. I’m really comfortable with him and it helps that I could stare into his eyes all day,” Priya added.

Love Island continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV2.
