American Horror Story fans have been left baffled after Season 10 was confirmed as “Double Feature’.
Show creator Ryan Murphy took to social media to confirm the tenth run of the horror anthology series was entitled Double Feature after previously teasing fans with a countdown.
In a video showing waves crashing on a shore from above, the title was revealed in bold red font.
After the title, it the video reads “Two horrifying stories…one season.
“One by the sea…one by sand.”
So, despite the title referring to two separate stories, we don’t have much else to go for the theme of the season otherwise.
The location of the video two previous behind the scenes shots that Murphy uploaded showed the location as Provincetown, Massachusetts.
The new run of episodes will see the returns of series stalwarts Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters who both sat out from the show for the first time with the previous season, AHS: 1984.
Other previous cast members returning for the new season are Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, Adina Porter, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and Angelica Ross.
Also joining the show this season is Home Alone legend Macaulay Culkin who posed in a photo alongside Leslie on Ryan’s Instagram page.
The creator also showed off a shot of a creature resembling a vampire standing on a dark street in another snap.
Naturally, American Horror Story fans took to social media to share their confusion and intrigue over the title of the tenth season.
One AHS fan wrote on Twitter : “WTF DOES IT MEAN RYAN #AHS10#AHS#AHSDoubleFeature “.
A different follower of the horror anthology series penned: “This title & teaser doesn’t *actually* answer what the season is even about and brings more questions than answers… and I totally love the mystery of it”.
Meanwhile, another social media user commented: “YESSSSSSS OMG THIS IS REAL, IT’S HAPPENING #AHS#AHS10 “.
Elsewhere, another follower of the series was less than impressed, tweeting: “out of anything you could have called ahs10 you pick this.”
Finally, one Ryan Murphy fan concluded: “i mean… not like I was waiting all day… WHAT DOES IT MEAN”.
The previous seasons of American Horror Story were entitled Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and 1984.
A spin-off anthology series American Horror Stories is also due soon, which will tell different horror tales with each new episode.
Elsewhere, Sarah Paulson and Finn Wittrock can also be seen in Ryan Murphy’s hit Netflix series Ratched.
*American Horror Story: Double Feature will be released later this year on FX in the US.
