Dancing On Ice star Rebekah Vardy has revealed she almost fainted when she accidentally sliced professional partner Andy Buchanan’s face with her ice skates.
The mum-of-five said despite giving birth so many times, she hates the sight of the blood, and when she saw it pouring from Andy’s face she almost passed out.
Andy has been left scarred for life in the horror incident, days before professional Yebin Mok was also forced to pull out when she was sliced in the leg by her partner Graham Bell’s skates.
Speaking to The Mirror and other media, Becky revealed: “I’ve had so many falls, and obviously I injured Andy and that was the most horrific experience
“I actually thought he was messing around to begin with, because he does like to rib me a bit.
“We were doing a move, and the last thing he said to me was, ‘Don’t kick me in the face’.
“I thought, ‘Why would you say that? You’re going to jinx us!’
“So we did what were doing and he nearly dropped me, and I thought, ‘Oh sh*t.’
“I looked at him and he was holding his face, and I said, ‘Stop messing about’, and I laughed.
“Then he removed his hand from his face, there was blood everywhere, five kids and I can’t deal with blood, I nearly passed out.
“I felt horrific, and all he was worried about was the show and tell the next day. I was like, ‘Why are you worried about skating, I am worried about your face!'”
She added: “It just proves that what we are doing is really dangerous.
“If you start thinking about falling, you’re gonna deck it.”
Becky said the injury did not affect her close bond with Andy, and explained he was more concerned about her.
“He kept saying, ‘It wasn’t your fault, it wasn’t your fault!”
“But it was my fault because if I had done it right, it would never have happened, but accidents are bound to happen and it’s about how you bounce back.”
Becky revealed she felt incredibly sick to go back on the ice the next day and was unsure if she would even be able to face it again.
“But you have to get straight back out there otherwise fear will overcome everything you achieved so far,” she said.
