The One Show viewers couldn’t get over how good Great British Bake Off host Matt Lucas looked on World Book Day.
The Little Britain star, 47, was on the BBC show promoting his new book My Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Silly Book of True or False.
Matt has spoken about his weight loss on the Lorraine show, admitting he packed on the pounds during lockdown, but had made an effort to shed some pounds.
And judging by his appearance on last night’s One Show – his hard work is paying off.
One viewer took to Twitter, writing: “Matt Lucas is looking fabulous on #TheOneShow tonight. He’s very charming to meet too!”
Another gushed: “”Matt Lucas is looking great on BBC The One Show! Looking well! #TheOneShow @RealMattLucas.”

However a third viewer wasn’t quite as kind, musing: “Well done Matt Lucas on the weight loss – but almost like the personality has gone with it #TheOneShow.”
Matt impressed The Great British Bake Off fans with his impressive weight loss as he appeared at the National Television Awards last year.
The Channel 4 programme won the Best Challenge Show award in September, with Bake Off hosts Noel Fielding and Matt and judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood joining by video link.

Accepting the award, Matt thanked his co-stars for making him “so welcome”, but again it was his weight that got fans talking with one tweeting the night of the show: “Bloody hell @RealMattLucas has lost so much weight, well done him.”
Matt said of his appearance: “I lost some weight, I needed to take the edge of, because I put on a lot of weight in lockdown. I’ve still got a bit of a tum.
“The one thing I need to do is get fitter, I have put on a little bit of weight, that’s my next challenge to do a bit more exercise.
“I might have to make a game of it when I go out an exercise to stay out of people’s way. I don’t have a garden so I have to find a way to do that.”
Matt recently told The Mirror he was “forced” to switch sides from presenter to contestant on The Great Celebrity Bake Off, when one of the 20 stars pulled out at the last minute.
He explained: “I was forced to bake by my bosses at the last minute when one of the bakers became unavailable.
“I can’t tell you how happy I was that my humiliation was caught on camera.”
In the episode, which airs this spring as part of Channel 4 ’s annual charity fund-raiser for Stand Up to Cancer, Matt and Noel make a gag about a “mystery guest” before flipping a coin.
