The Chase viewers were left amazed that one of the answers given for the contestant to choose was a phrase which described a sex act.
The ITV quiz show often throws up a talking point which sees viewers taking to social media to throw about but this time they were left flabbergasted that such a ‘rude’ phrase was used.
The show’s host, Bradley Walsh, asked the question: “What is the name of the American Football team based in Cincinnati?”
Multiple-choice options are given for the contestant to choose from, and they were: “Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Blades or Cincinnati Bow Ties”.

While the correct answer was The Cincinnati Bengals, it was one of the other answers which caused merriment, as viewers pointed out it was an x-rated lewd act.
A ‘Cincinatti bow tie’ is allegedly slang for a sex act, with one viewer sharing a screenshot of the description of what it entails, as Twitter was lit up with fans wanting to share their thoughts and memes.
The Daily Star has reported that the phrase was referenced in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, so it is an act that Hollywood is familiar with.
One fan tweeted: “Loving the quiz setter on The Chase putting Cincinnati bow tie in as an option”.
Another added: “I think whoever writes the questions for The Chase also is a fan of Urban Dictionary… Cincinnati bow tie.”
A third tweeted: “Cincinnati Bow Tie was just one of the three answers on The Chase.
“Think they need to pre-check their answers in future.”

The episode also had a dramatic twist after one contestant recovered from an awful start to put one over Chaser Jenny Ryan.
Janty had a grand total of zero after her first round, so Jenny thought she was safe in offering £40,000 as her high offer.
What she didn’t expect was that Janty accepted the offer and not only that, she then went on to answer every question correctly and bagged the big money prize.
Bradley exclaimed: “That was unbelievable! That will go down in The Chase history.”
Janty made it through to the final on her own but was only able to answer six questions correctly, so Jenny wasted no time in chasing her down to prevent her walking away with the money.
