Strictly: Giovanni says Rose is his best friend
Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice fought back tears on Saturday night as he paid tribute to Rose Ayling-Ellis.
The pair had just performed their first dance of the final, a Quickstep, when they headed upstairs to chat to host Claudia Winkleman.
After speaking about how it felt to have made it to the final of the 2021 series, 31-year-old Giovanni was keen to say something to Rose directly.
Sounding choked up, Giovanni said: “I just have to say it’s been a dream to be able to dance with you. It’s been a dream sharing this journey with you.
“It’s my privilege to share the journey with you. I’ve definitely met a friend, a best friend for life.

Viewers were also feeling emotional after watching Giovanni’s speech and took to Twitter to comment.
