Shannon Singh defends OnlyFans past comparing work to that of a Hollywood actor

Dumped Love Island contestant Shannon Singh has defended her past as an OnlyFans model comparing her saucy snaps to x-rated roles by Hollywood stars.

The 22-year-old Scottish stunner is proud of the sexy snaps she shared online that the public could access, for a fee, by subscribing to the explicit social media site.

While some have criticised the reality star for her raunchy photo past, she has hit back to say there is a double standard between women who pose for naked photos they create themselves and actresses who are praised for stripping in Rated 18 films.

Shannon – who was brutally dumped from the 2021 series of Love Island after just 48 hours – says she is thankful for her glamour modelling past and her time as an OnlyFans model.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I’m proud of what it has made me, because it has made me a really strong and independent woman. I’ve owned what I’ve done.

“I was a teenager when I first started doing glamour modeling but it has led me on to a great path.”

Highlighting the difference in approach to how OnlyFans models are criticised to how Hollywood stars are viewed, she continued: “You’ve got like Dakota Johnson in 50 Shades of Grey – it’s soft porn. You’ve got celebrities like Margot Robbie naked in front of everyone in the Wolf of Wall Street.

“Naomi Campbell has got a full nude book published and Kate Moss has got nudes everywhere. It’s 2021.”

She went on: “You’ve got the #metoo movement. Women are taking ownership of their sexuality.”

Shannon then went on to explain she would rather share photos she has created herself than pose for photographers who would then have the rights to the images.

She explained: ”Some people take advantage of you and when you sign away your rights, the photographer has that content of you, they own it, they can just repeat it on whatever platform they see fit.

“What OnlyFans has done is, the models own the content.”

Shannon was the first contestant of the 2021 Love Island series to be sent home after a cruel twist saw her split up from her coupling and subsequently ditched from the villa.

Speaking after her short run on the show, Shannon said: “I am a bit gutted.

“Do you know what, out of all the girls, I think it is fair it’s me because I didn’t have any emotional attachments to the guys, but all the girls had tiny little things [going on].”

Giving advice for future Love Island contestants, Shannon said: “Honestly, do you.

“Do whatever you’re comfortable with, even if you feel an idiot doing it. Don’t do anything you’re going to go to bed and think, ‘I wish I’d never done that or said that’. Then you can really walk away from the experience and be like, it is what it is.”

And looking to her own future, she said: “Keep doing me, I want to get back on my streaming. I think go on holiday with the girls and then suss out what I want to do. I think I’m going to have to spend a good couple of months sussing out what I want to do.”

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and via the ITV Hub at 9pm
