Punky Brewster Image Reveals First Look At Margaux’s Return

The Punky Brewster revival series offers a look at Ami Foster reprising her role as Margaux. Starring Soleil Moon Frye, Punky Brewster ran on NBC for four seasons in 1984. In 2019, it was announced that Peacock would bring back the young heroine, now a single mother of three in her 40s, with Frye reprising her iconic role in a reboot series. Flanked by her best friend Cherie (Cherie Johnson), Punky attempts to recenter her life after encountering a young orphan Izzy (Quinn Copeland), who reminds her of her younger self. Now, it appears someone else from Punky’s past will return.

Per TVLine, Foster, who portrayed spoiled rich girl Margaux Kramer, will reprise her role as a guest star on Punky Brewster. Now the owner of a successful PR firm, Margaux reunites with her old crew to deliver Punky’s foster daughter Izzy a special surprise. Serving as a reunion for the titular pigtail-sporting Punky and her misfit friends, the revival series is adding new faces to the mix. These include Freddie Prinze Jr. as Punky’s ex-husband and Jasika Nicole (Fringe) as Cherie’s girlfriend.

Produced by Frye and original series creator David Duclon, the 10-episode series joins the batch of popular properties from past decades revived on Peacock. The announcement of a Punky Brewster revival was met with mixed reactions, but the return of original cast members Frye, Johnson, and Foster has heightened the anticipation for the series. Of course, the droves of fans who initially followed Punky’s adventures will have to tune on February 25 to see if original characters Henry (Geroge Gaynes) and Betty (Susie Garrett) will be honored and if Margaux will utter her catchphrase “Peasants!” on Punky Brewster.
