Olly Murs sobs and says he wishes he could have saved Caroline Flack in new doc

Olly Murs is seen breaking down in tears as he shares his regret at not being able to stop Caroline Flack taking her own life.

A trailer has been released for the new Channel 4 documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death, which looks at Caroline’s life from her childhood through to her glamorous career as a TV presenter on Love Island, and finally through to her tragic death.

It also includes interviews with her mum Christine and her closest friends, including fellow celebs like Olly and Dermot O’Leary.

Caroline took her own life in February 2020. She was only 40 years old.

In the trailer, Olly says he wish he could have saved Caroline from suicide as he fought back tears.

He says: “I just wish I could have told her not to do it.”

Stopping for a second to compose himself, he says: “I never got the opportunity to do that.”

The trailer starts with Caroline’s mum Christine speaking over childhood videos of Caroline playing.

Christine says: “She was my little girl, it doesn’t actually seem real.”

The trailer shows videos from her early career, clips of her and friends and footage of when she got very famous.

“When she walked into a room, it was like a light went on,” another voice says.

There is a heartbreaking clip of Caroline crying, saying: “The only person I ever hurt is myself.”
