Katie Price explains she’s seeing a therapist ‘every week’

Katie Price has suggested that it was “traumatic events” that led to her drink-drugs crash last year and that she “isn’t a big drinker”.

However, she said that she is “not ready” to talk about the trauma she suffered and that she feels “ashamed” by what happened.

The 43-year-old avoided spending Christmas behind bars when a judge said a legal loophole left her unable to hand Katie the sentence she deserved.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today with son Harvey, she insisted that she was going to turn her life around.

She declared: “2022 is definitely my year – 22 is my lucky number… this has to be my year of no dramas. So much has happened last year.”

Host Susanna Reid pointed out: “You must be thankful that you’re not in jail… you managed to avoid a jail sentence, things could have been very different.”

“The events leading up to it were very traumatic, I’m not ready to talk about it yet,” she said, revealing that she was seeing a therapist every week. “There’s reasons why I got in that car, my mental state. I feel ashamed about it.

“When i’m ready to talk about it, I’ll come on here. “I just think that people shouldn’t judge.”

Quizzed on reports that she was taking part in Dry January, she seemed to suggest that she wasn’t doing it as she’s “not even a big drinker anyway”.

“I just want to focus on myself,” she said. “I’m just going to be healthy, I’m going to see a therapist.”

Asked about her plans for the new year, she said: “Babies, marriage, I want everything. I have definitely found the one with Carl.”

After crashing her Range Rover in an early morning incident near her Sussex home in September, Katie told police officers that she’d taken drugs and shouldn’t be driving.

Roadside tests revealed she had cocaine in her system and that she was almost twice the legal limit of alcohol.

She pleaded guilty after being charged with driving while unfit to drive through drink, using a motor vehicle on a public place without third party insurance and driving while disqualified.

She was handed a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and 100 hours of unpaid work, with her driving ban being kept to two years.

Following her sentencing, Katie issued a statement on her “difficult time”, saying that she was “incredibly sorry” for her actions.

And on New Year’s Eve, she vowed to have the “greatest year of [her] life” as 22 is her “lucky number”.

Sharing the quote “REPEAT AFTER ME: I am going to walk into the greatest year of my life”, she wrote: “22 is my lucky number so my focus is to make it a drama free and actually have some good luck ,?with all my new ventures and ideas I will smash it.”

But fans were largely unconvinced, with one commenting: “It’s not about luck it’s about the choices we make.”
