Thanks to some new moving posters, fans can get a better look at the characters (and superhero costumes) from Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy. Created by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, the saga began life as a comic book series. Published in 2013, it achieved critical acclaim and became one of Millar’s longest-running stories. A television adaptation was announced in 2018, with the first official Jupiter’s Legacy trailer released earlier this month.
Jupiter’s Legacy followed two generations of superheroes. While the older heroes used their powers for the benefit of mankind, their children struggled to match that legacy and embraced them in more modern ways. Released by Millar on Instagram, fans can now get a taste of these disparate characters and the conflicts between them. As well as moving posters of them in costume, there are several glimpses of how each character uses their powers — including for modeling and more brutal personal gain. Check them out below:
The older generation is lead by Sheldon Sampson aka The Utopian (Josh Duhamel). Alongside him in the team known as The Union is Walter Sampson aka Brainwave (Ben Daniels), Grace Sampson aka Lady Liberty (Leslie Bibb), Fitz Small aka The Flare (Mike Wade), and George Hutchene aka Skyfox (Matt Lanter). Jupiter’s Legacy will also include such as Blue Bolt.
The younger generation is comprised of Chloe Sampson (Elena Kampouris), Brandon Sampson aka Paragon (Andrew Horton), Petra Small aka The Flare II (Tenika Davis), Hutch (Ian Quinlan), and Raikou (Anna Akana). The series will also include original Sabretooth actor Tyler Mane as Blackstar and Chase Tang as the supervillain known as Baryon.
Jupiter’s Legacy season 1 will be released in its entirety via Netflix on May 7, 2021.
