Dec Donnelly appeared emotional, as he embraced a change to usual Saturday Night Takeaway proceedings this weekend.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown and social distancing restrictions, the usual studio audience was axed from the series.
Instead, Ant and Dec revealed they had a virtual audience made up of 300 people instead of the usual studio crowd.
Each week a virtual audience will be present, while it is unlikely to be the same people every time.
Audience participation is still very much a part of the show, with Win the Ads, secrets about viewers coming to light and the familiar giveaways.
Dec said: “For the first time ever we can see into the living rooms live of 300 people all at the same time.
“Make sure you are all decent please, no questionable behaviour. I’m looking at you madam!”
Saturday Night Takeaway airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
