Bridgerton Star Regé-Jean Page Hosts Next Week’s SNL

Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is set to host next week’s episode of Saturday Night Live. Page is best known for playing the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, in the breakout Netflix hit Bridgerton. In Bridgerton, his character longs to live the life of a bachelor until his fake courtship with Daphne becomes serious. The British actor is also known for his roles in For the People, Roots and Sylvie’s Love.

TVLine confirms that Bridgerton star Page will host Saturday’s upcoming SNL episode. The February 20 episode will also feature musical guest Bad Bunny. This is Page’s first time appearing on SNL. His past credits have been on the more dramatic side so it’ll be interesting to see him take on comedic roles during the zany sketch show. However, his character in Bridgerton has been known to make a few witty jabs so viewers could be in for a treat.

Season 46 has brought in the highest ratings for SNL in the past four years. Election years always bring in more views for SNL, and this year’s political climate especially has provided no shortage of material. Additionally, SNL has been able to carry on with a live studio audience despite the pandemic. This season has also brought in some heavy hitters as far as guests go. Some of this season’s previous guest hosts include Schitt’s Creek’s Daniel Levy, Insecure’s Issa Rae and SNL alum Chris Rock.
