Ukrainian schoolboy admits he didn’t recognise Angelina Jolie
A 14-year-old schoolboy has admitted that he did not recognise “very beautiful” Angelina Jolie when she walked into a cafe where he was having a snack in war-ravaged Ukraine.
The Hollywood star, 46, was filmed in the Lviv cafe in western Ukraine where others swooned over her presence and asked for autographs.
But Julian with his headphones paid not the slightest attention to the actress and UN envoy for refugees, who visited an orphanage on her surprise visit.
The boy, listening to music and checking his social media, has gone viral for his lack of interest.
He told 1+1 Ukrainian TV: “I sat at the table, overheard that someone was speaking English, and thought it was some American Instagram celebrity.

“So I realised that it was some celebrity, but did not figure out who it was.
“In reality she is very beautiful, and in the movies, you know, she has so much makeup that you won’t recognise her.”
The teenager recalled listening to music and checking posts on Instagram when Jolie arrived at the cafe.
“When I got home, my mum showed me a video, which our neighbour shared with her, and I was already popular,” Julian said.

“So while I was on my way home, I was getting into all the [social media] publics already.
“You know, it was like a waking dream. All seemingly real, but as if also you can wake up and everything disappears.”
Jolie was seen on Saturday in Lviv where the actress and her entourage were rushed to safety during her visit to western Ukraine.

One member of her team turns to the camera at one point and ask the person filming “please no more”.
The first evacuees from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol are due to arrive in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, some 600 miles east of where Jolie visited.

In March, she was pictured in Yemen where she met displaced families who have been living in the conflict zone.
She shared photos and details of her experience and tried to attract support for a fundraising conference.
Speaking on Instagram, she wrote: “As we continue to watch the horrors unfolding in Ukraine, and call for an immediate end to the conflict and humanitarian access, I’m here in Yemen to support people who also desperately need peace.”
