Billie Shepherd thanks fans as Mummy Diaries cancelled due to sister Sam’s exit

Billie Shepherd has thanked fans of The Mummy Diaries following the series’ cancellation.

The ITVBe reality series was announced on Saturday to have ended following Sam Faiers’ decision to depart the show.

However, older sister Billie Shepherd, 31, will now get her own spin-off series centring on her life with her husband Greg.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Billie shared a series of images from The Mummy Diaries and also family photos of her with Greg and snaps with sister Sam.

Captioning the post, Billie penned: “As one journey ends another begins [shooting star emoji]…. And What an incredible journey it has been [red heart emoji] filming with my sister and family for the past 7 years has been the most wonderful experience and we truly have made the BEST memories all together”.

She continued: “Fiming @mummydiariesofficial I always say it’s like the best home movie ever !!! We are forever grateful to all of our amazing mummy diaries fans and followers [red heart emoji] Thank you for all of your support over the years [red heart emoji]”.

Billie then went on to give her fans the good news that she would still be seen alongside husband Greg on their new series Billie and Greg: The Family Diaires on ITVBe.

She continued: “HOWEVER …. The show must go on for us Shep’s [three winky face emojis] I am VERY excited that we are now filming for ‘Billie and Greg ~ The Family Diaries’ @gregory_shep the kids and I are excited to bring you along this next exciting chapter of our journey!”

The former TOWIE star signed off with a short message to her sister Sam, 30, as she steps back from the reality TV lifestyle.

Billie concluded: “I wish my sister @samanthafaiers all the love and luck in the world with your next adventure”

In the announcement regarding The Mummy Diaries, Sam explained her decision to step away.

Sam commented: “After many months of consideration, I’ve decided that now feels like the right time to step away and to focus on new adventures.”

“I truly have watched all the most defining moments in my adult life play out on The Mummy Diaries – bringing two beautiful children into the world, my relationship with Paul, building my businesses, creating a home together as a family, and of course all the wonderful memories with Billie and my family.”

She continued: “I’m so grateful to ITV and Potato for giving me and my children the best home movies anyone could ask for, I could never have imagined 7 years ago that we would still be here today- 9 series on! But more importantly, I will be forever appreciative to our incredible viewers.”

Sam ended by noting: “There’s no family more entertaining than the Shepherds, so I can’t wait to sit back as a viewer for a change and watch the fun play out while I have a few adventures of my own away from the cameras.”

The Mummy Diaries aired on ITV Be and ITV Hub and is now available on Britbox.
