Love Island’s latest dumped islander Brad McClelland has hinted that he might be up for moving on from Lucinda Strafford.
The northern star chose to leave the island on Wednesday night’s episode when he and Lucinda were voted the least compatible couple.
At the time, Brad admitted he was gutted that Lucinda didn’t decide to leave with him despite them only dating for a week – but now he seems to have changed his mind.
During an Instagram Q+A, Brad left it up to his followers when asked whether he should stick around and wait for Lucinda, leaving it up to a public vote.
He said in a quick video: “What do yous think? You think I should wait for ‘Cind?”
It’s quite the switch from his previous statement shortly after leaving the villa, where he confessed: “On the night, it was one of them situations where, I didn’t want her to leave [with me]. The way we had a connection, it would be really nice to take what we had and continue it on the outside.
“I woke up this morning and I wish we had left together. I want to see where that could have went.”
He added: “I’m kind of hoping she doesn’t find love in there, because maybe we can carry on from where we left off.”
However, he added he had no regrets when it comes to his time on the show, and that he didn’t connect with anyone the way he connected with the 21-year-old.
He did joke he was cringing watching himself, and later added: “It’s weird seeing myself on TV and it’s even worse hearing myself on TV. I mean… I didn’t think I sounded that rough!”
Lucinda was seen upset as the 26-year-old labourer packed his bags and left the villa, being comforted by Faye Winter as she said: “We were literally having Special K with raspberries on it though, and now he’s gone.”
However, the girls found it strange that he didn’t leave, and seemed to insinuate she was on the show for the job prospects that could come as a result, rather than finding the one.
Aaron Francis was also quick to swoop in and admit he was also interested in her, leaving her giggling and considering his proposition.
However, in a first look at Sunday night’s episode, it seems that she’s still not made her decision, with Aaron getting well and truly swerved.
In awkward scenes, Lucinda literally moves out of his way when he tries to go in for a kiss, asking him: “Are you having a laugh? Why are you doing this?”
Tonight, there’s a new recoupling on the horizon with one of the girls set to get dumped.
The only girl who knows she’s safe is newcomer AJ, who is allowed to pick the guy of her choice at the recoupling.
New boy Danny Bibby will also get to choose which girl he wants to couple up with, before the rest of the guys make their decision.
The girl remaining single at the end will be dumped from the villa, joining Rachel Finni and Brad as the third person to get eliminated this week alone.
Laura Whitmore will be interviewing all of them in the spin-off chat show, Love Island : Aftersun after the episode airs.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2, followed by Love Island: Aftersun.
