New Falcon & Winter Soldier TV Spot Shows the Tech Inside Bucky’s Arm

New The Falcon and the Winter Soldier spot reveals a closer look at the Wakandan tech that makes Bucky’s arm work. After realizing what happened to him at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and subsequently began his rehabilitation in Captain America: Civil War, he decided to go back on the ice with the help of Wakanda. His progress appeared to be going smoothly, as seen in the post-credits scene in Black Panther and eventually Avengers: Infinity War.

Following his disappearance due to Thanos’ snap and return in five years, Bucky is now moving forward in a post-Infinity Saga world without Steve Rogers. This time, he teams up with Sam Wilson in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for a brand new adventure as they fight both familiar and new adversaries. While Sam’s story will mostly revolve around his journey ultimately assuming his place as MCU’s next Captain America, Bucky’s arc will be about dealing with his past as the Winter Soldier, as seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiere.

While Sam and Bucky have yet to cross paths in the ongoing series on Disney+, the pair will come together sooner rather than later to begin their collective mission. A new spot for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier shared by Marvel Studios Movies highlights Bucky’s Vibranium arm as he shows it off to Sam. At one point, the clip reveals how it snaps into his shoulders, revealing the Wakandan tech inside it that makes it work. Check out the teaser below:

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will determine what kind of future lies ahead for Bucky in the MCU. As seen in the show thus far, he’s been going through therapy and making amends for his sins as the Winter Soldier. Even though he was brainwashed when he operated as a HYDRA assassin, it’s clear that he’s still haunted by his crimes. Doing so would not only be good for the people he wronged but for himself as he attempts to begin a new life with his original identity. Perhaps at the end of the series, he would assume his superhero identity as the White Wolf that was given to him by the Wakandan people.

Marvel Studios has done a great job keeping the important plot points of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier a secret, and instead focusing on the fun rapport between Sam and Bucky. But while their bickering makes for some fun moments, expect the show to tackle dark subjects like racism and veteran woes. For Bucky specifically, it’s important to put a focus on his mental issues as it’s hampered him for such a long time.
