Celebrity chef John Torode has revealed he turned down the chance to appear on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Producers were desperate to get the MasterChef host to sign up but he says he refused to put himself under “pressure” so declined the offer, reports the Daily Star.
He said: “They asked me – I’d love to dance.
“But I’m not doing it. I’m not going to put myself under that sort of pressure. It’s not something I want to do… definitely not!”
He also ended any speculation that fans could see him on reality show in future too.
John added: “I’m very happy to be on MasterChef and be part of a great production. I just don’t want to be competing on a television show.”
He continued: “I love watching it.
“It’s amazing what people can do on that show. Congratulations to Bill Bailey. Good on him for winning last year. I think that was great.”
John’s Masterchef co-star Gregg Wallace competed on Strictly in 2014 but was voted out in the first week.
Stars already being tipped to take part in this year’s Strictly contest include football legend Rio Ferdinand, Busted singer Matt Willis, former Corrie star Lucy Fallon and TV presenter Angelica Bell.
The new series is due to begin in September.
Masterchef continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
