Myleene Klass has confessed she’s a little “embarrassed” about a knee injury she suffered during training for Dancing On Ice.
The singer and presenter will be taking to the ice for her first live performance on the show on Sunday evening.
But the star is skating through a meniscus injury, which she confessed is “very painful”.
She’s also a little embarrassed, she confessed, because it’s “not very sexy” with her revealing her knees have gone.
The 42-year-old presenter revealed on social media that she is wearing knee supports on both legs, even when she is not on the ice, in a bid to keep her training on schedule.
She has a torn meniscus – a cartilage in her knee – which will only heal fully once it is rested while her “dodgy second knee” needs extra support after training sessions.
Now, speaking to The Mirror and other press, Myleene has revealed how she’s getting on ahead of the weekend.
She said: “I feel almost embarrassed by my injury because it’s not very sexy, and I feel like a nana.
“Graham Bell is an expert in these things and he’s gonna have a two-meter talk with me.
“It’s a meniscus injury that is very painful, but it’s not very sexy when you say your knees have gone!”
She added: “It happened from learning to dance on ice! It’s no easy feat, it really isn’t.
“On land I feel like I am quite stable and I can do my turns, and get my counts to the music. As soon you remove the land and replace it with a fairly slippery surface, it does all manners of things to your joints.
“I’ve said I’m like the tin man! Every morning I wake up I have to oil and manipulate and move things, before I can even think about getting out of bed.
“I thought the show was gonna make me feel 16 again, but it’s making me feel 116.”
Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 6pm on ITV.
