Holly Willoughby tips Myleene Klass to win Dancing On Ice as ‘she’s a performer’

Holly Willoughby has tipped her friend Myleene Klass to win Dancing On Ice when it returns on ITV.

The 39-year-old host of the skating show, alongside Phillip Schofield, has spoken out ahead of the launch show on Sunday and has said to win the trophy then you will have to beat Myleene.

After a troubled build-up to the start of the new series, in which coronavirus restrictions have paid havoc with the celebrities training schedules with their professional skate partners, the time to impress is almost here.

Holly has cited that Myleene, 42, being a musical performer will give her an edge, especially as she’s become a dab hand on the ice.

When asked who she thinks could be crowned champion at the end of the series, Holly said: “I am going for Myleene.

“I think she has got musicality because she is a musician.”

The This Morning host added: “She is a performer anyway and I just think she is going to fall in love with it. That’s my little insider tip.”

Holly also indicated that she cannot wait to get the new series under way, and that her children – Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, six – were also thrilled that the show is back again.

Holly added: “Trying to find something to watch as a family, where we are all sitting around the telly watching something together, is not that easy.

“There is the Masked Singer, and thank God for that, but it is really tricky to find those shows.

“As a parent I am so grateful for this show coming back as it is proper family viewing that everyone can just sit down and enjoy and be together.”

Holly concluded: “It’s January, it’s been rubbish, it’s been horrible. We need a bit of escapism.”

Singer Jason Donovan, 52, is the bookies’ favourite, closely ahead of former Coronation Street star, Faye Brookes, 33.

The judging panel will once again be headed by skating legends Jayne Torvill, 63, and Christopher Dean, 62, with Ashley Banjo, 32, and John Barrowman, 53, also on hand to give critique.

With strict coronavirus guidelines in place, there will be glass screens separating the judges and prerecorded dances will also be used.
