Michael McIntyre was utterly mortified on Saturday when his new game show The Wheel ended in complete disaster.
The Wheel sees celebrities help out contestants in general knowledge questions in a bid to win some cash.
But the show ended in an outcome show bosses never predicted – none of the contestants won anything.
Michael said, astonished: “This show is supposed to raise the mood of the nation, this is worse than Newsnight!
“This is so depressing! I would rather watch a Prime Ministerial briefing!
“We never thought nobody would win! It maybe came up in one meeting, and then we were like, ‘Naa’.
“One in four, three times? Naa. And look at us now, a bunch of losers.”
He also could not believe how badly the celebrities, including radio presenter Tony Blackburn, had performed.
He continued: “I am so horrified. Tony has lost his job because he has embarrassed himself to much with his questions.
“Maura can’t go back to Ireland.
“This has been the worst night of my life, I am never speaking to anybody here ever again.
“It says on the autocue, ‘Thank you to the celebrity experts’, but I don’t think I should read that one.”
Meanwhile, Maura Higgins was accused of bringing shame upon her native Ireland during the game.
She was called up to help contestant Barry with the question: “Geographically speaking, from which of these Irish counties would it be most accurate to say ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary’?”
The options were Limerick, Donegal, Cork or Dublin, and Maura, who is from County Longford, was utterly baffled.
“I am going to be ashamed of my life, I will never be let back into Ireland!” said Maura.
Barry chose Donegal but it was incorrect, and he lost his place on the show and £10,000 after playing incredibly well almost up to the end of the show.
He was absolutely crestfallen, and Maura was rendered speechless, looking mortified.
