In anime, black hair is often associated with characters that are secretive, sophisticated, traditional, strong, ruthless, and/or macabre in some manner. Despite its dark hue, black hair is not always a bad thing; there are black-haired persons who are profound thinkers who seldom seek counsel from others, but there are also extremely malevolent characters with this hair color.
