An Oxford graduate and New Lives In The Wild star has ditched her busy lifestyle for a quiet life in the Welsh woodlands.
The Channel 5 reality TV series sees presenter Ben Fogle revisit Emma Orbach, 66, who has lived in the woodlands of Pembrokeshire for over twenty years.
After ditching her hustle and bustle filled-life, Emma now lives in a hut made of straw, mud, and manure.
Her manmade home has no electricity, gas, or running water, and cost less than £1,000 to build.
During the eye-opening episode, the nature-lover told host Ben that she ‘doesn’t care’ that people in her local village call her ‘crazy’.
Emma decided to adapt to a wilder life at the turn of the millennium back in 2000, which ultimately resulted in the end of her marriage.
Despite what the locals may think, Emma views other people as crazy due to the fact that they ‘destroy the Earth’ thanks to their bad habits.
The Oxford graduate revealed: “’I think other people are crazy for the way they live but that’s their business, isn’t it?’
“We’re all free, it’s my story to choose what I do in my world – as long as you don’t hurt anything, and that includes the Earth.”
She went on: “’So I think people are crazy for destroying the Earth in the way they live. Why would you destroy your life support system? It seems crazy to me.”
As the episode concluded, Emma reflected on her life choices, and openly admitted that she doesn’t want anything because she feels very much content with her wild life.
