BRIT Awards: Stars hit the red carpet in sensational outfits
Maya Jama looked rather embarrassed on Tuesday evening when she was asked about her engagement ring live on television.
Maya, 27, was co-hosting the 2022 BRIT Awards alongside Mo Gilligan when she suddenly found herself the centre of attention.
As the pair sat on stools in front of the star-studded audience at London’s O2 Arena, Mo said: “Maya I can’t have you here without talking about that amazing rock on your finger.”
Maya quickly pulled her hand away and hid it behind her back, before Mo continued: “That is the size of a small studio bedroom flat in London, I’m telling you!”
He then said: “It looks fantastic, you’re working it.”

Clearly feeling embarrassed by all of the attention being on her, Maya quickly said: “OK let’s move on.”
Fans were quick to comment on the coy way Maya dismissed her huge rock, with one person tweeting: “The way Maya Jama changed the subject so quick when Mo asked her about the huge diamond ring.”
Another fan penned: “Maya Jama swerved the question about her engagement ring HARD.”
While someone joked: “Men across the UK crying now Mo mentioned Maya Jama’s engagement ring.”

Maya and her beau Ben Simmons, an American NBA player, both got engaged recently after only dating for around seven months.
Maya went public with the NBA player at Wimbledon 2021 after splitting from British rapper Stormzy in 2019.
It is thought that the 25-year-old Philadelphia 76ers player popped the question to the former Radio 1 DJ over Christmas, after Maya spent the festive period with him at his £3.7million mansion in New Jersey.
At the time an insider told The Sun: “Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewelers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed.

“He chose the ring himself and felt he knew exactly what she would want. Maya said yes and they’re both thrilled.”
Up until tonight at the BRITs, Maya had been keeping her stunning rock under wraps – even hiding it under gloves during a recent chat show appearance.
But showing it off proudly on the red carpet proved to be more than enough for the star, who didn’t want to flaunt it while chatting with Mo during the live broadcast of the awards ceremony.
