Kevin Feige Confirms Moon Knight & She-Hulk Start Filming In a Few Weeks

Kevin Feige confirmed that both Moon Knight and She-Hulk would begin production in the coming weeks. Marvel officially stepped into the streaming realm with the debut of WandaVision in January. That series quickly became a massive hit and has since concluded with an explosive finale that hints at both the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel and the Secret Invasion series. Until then, though, the studio has a few more shows on its plate.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres in just over a week, and its six-episode run will lead directly into the release of Black Widow and Loki. Phase 4 is gearing up to have the MCU’s most robust slate yet, and it seems like it’s all just beginning. Both Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel are currently filming and slated for debuts later this year, but all eyes are on two other shows that are set to take the MCU in new and exciting directions.

Marvel president Feige confirmed to The Companion that two of the MCU’s most anticipated shows, Moon Knight and She-Hulk, will begin filming in a couple of weeks. She-Hulk will begin production first, with Moon Knight following shortly after. Feige also said that several Marvel films would start filming in the coming weeks but didn’t specify which ones. Feige’s full quote is below:

On March 19, as you know The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be debuting. June 11 will be the debut date for Loki and, of course, soon after that, we’ll have our first animated series, which is What If …?. We are finishing up Ms. Marvel, and we’re also shooting Hawkeye currently. In a few weeks, we start She-Hulk, and a week or so after that, we start Moon Knight in addition to our features.

Both She-Hulk and Moon Knight are set to take two of Marvel’s more obscure characters and put them front and center. Emmy nominated Orphan Black actress Tatiana Maslany will be taking on the titular role in She-Hulk, with the series being described as a legal procedural comedy that will run for ten thirty-minute episodes. In addition to Maslany, Mark Ruffalo will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner in the series and, in a surprising turn of events, Tim Roth will be reprising his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk for the series.

Moon Knight is also set to feature two Hollywood heavyweights. Oscar Isaac will play the eponymous hero opposite Ethan Hawke in the series’ villain role, and seeing the pair on screen together is exciting enough to pique fans’ interest. It’s still unclear how both of these shows will factor into the larger plot of the MCU’s Phase 4, but as the studio’s slate begins to take shape, this is certain to become more apparent. Moon Knight will most certainly be a darker show and act as a counterpart to what sounds like a lighter tone for She-Hulk. Barring any further delays, fans likely won’t have to wait too long for these shows, with an early 2022 debut for the pair looking more and more likely.
