First Dates launches teen spin-off series with youngsters searching for love

A brand-new version of the much-loved dating show First Dates is set to splash across our screens next year.

But this time, the main focus will be on teenagers who are in search of love.

First Dates: Teens will feature youngsters aged between 16 and 19, each of whom will go on a date at the a new swanky First Dates restaurant in Manchester.

Matchmaking extraordinaire Fred Sirieix will be back in action along with the help of his restaurant team who will watch on as sparks fly between the eager teens.

This new six-part series will see the bunch of hopeful teens experience the thrill of a real-life, face to face blind date.

According to E4, the spin-off series “gives these young romantics the chance to put their phones in their pocket, escape from the pressures of social media and talk face-to-face with a potential match.

“They’ll be able to put their flirting to the test, but most importantly, take a journey of self-discovery.

“Through their own experiences and viewpoints, the teens will explore who they are, who they want to be, and what it takes to make the perfect connection with another person.”

As we all know, a first date can be an incredibly daunting and awkward experience – especially during a global pandemic.

But Fred and his thoughtful team will be on-hand to hype up the hopeful love interests and to ensure that coronavirus guidelines are being followed on the dates.

All dates have been conducted in compliance with strict COVID-19 filming protocols and the most up to date government guidelines.

Fred has said he is “very excited” to open the doors to a new clientele.

The handsome French native said: “We’ll be creating a warm and welcoming space for them to meet new people and hopefully make a connection.

“Most importantly, we will be looking after them like our own and will provide a space where they can just be themselves without any distractions from the outside world, or their phones!

“It’s going to be so much fun and I can’t wait to get started!”.

A launch date for the new series has not yet been announced, but all six episodes are expected to air in early 2021.
