Love Island fans were in hysterics as Hugo was left hanging by Jake as he tried to give him a fist bump.
The PE teacher was among the Islanders taking part in an American football themed challenge, when an eagle-eyed viewer saw Hugo being left high and dry as he attempted to get a fist bump from Jake while he was passionately kissing Amy.
“Hugo getting his first bump aired he’s a walking L (loser),” the fan wrote, alongside a two second clip of the awkward incident.
“This is a grown man. And he’s acting like he’s in primary school slsksk was this his first kiss on live tv?” one Twitter user asked, as another tweeted: “This is SO embarrassing I don’t think I can cope with knowing this happened.”

“I just passed away from second hand embarrassment,” one joked, as a mortified viewer added: “I’m internally screaming.”
Fans were left cringing as Jake acknowledged Hugo’s outstretched hand, but still refused to fist bump him.
“lmao the fact that Jake acknowledged it and still ignored !!” wrote one viewer, with another tweeting: “Even Jake knows how neeky that was, looked at it and aired him.”
Viewers have become increasingly furious with Hugo, accusing the PE teacher of being boring, and enjoying a free holiday rather than developing any relationships in the villa.

The unlucky-in-love Islander originally coupled up with Sharon at the beginning of the series, before partnering up with Chloe, then going back to Sharon.
However, Sharon was dumped when newcomer AJ picked Hugo during a shock recoupling, but she was eventually evicted from the villa when the boys decided to send her packing.
After a stint in Casa Amor, Hugo finally met his match in Amy, and the pair returned to the villa, with the teacher stating that he had a “spark” with the stunner.

But just days later, Hugo complained that things weren’t the same between him and Amy after they left Casa Amor, and the two had a tense confrontation on the sundeck.
And during a conversation with Teddy, he confessed he was struggling to connect with her, and felt there was “something missing” in their relationship.
“I think I’m a man who knows what he wants,” Hugo explained, as he admitted that he felt the conversation had turned dry.

In the Beach Hut, he hinted during a confessional that he was seemingly regretting his choice.
“I want somebody genuine. It would be very easy for me to be a yes man,” he stated.
However, his admission drove viewers mad, and they voiced their frustration on social media.
“”Hugo doesn’t like Amy. Amy doesn’t like Hugo. Please release the UK from watching this pain #LoveIsland,” one wrote.
