Sam Wilson flaunts his side job in this funny piece of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fan art. Hot on the heels of the MCU’s first Disney+ series, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has flown onto the streaming service in epic fashion. The first episode of the buddy dramedy dropped on Friday, and though its main characters have yet to properly meet up, there was plenty to enjoy. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie as Sam and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes as the two men aim to find their place in a world vastly changed by the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Aside from an early high-flying sequence, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier takes a quieter approach to reintroducing the titular heroes. Episode 1 spends time with both Sam and Bucky and reveals what they’ve been up to since Endgame. Sam’s scenes in particular have put the spotlight on something not many have considered, but now are debating in earnest: How do superheroes earn their money? The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 1 showed Sam trying to get a loan for his sister, and the invasive questions from the bank employee highlight the strangeness of a superhero’s financials.
Acclaimed graphic artist Bosslogic took that moment and ran with it for a new piece, which sees Sam picking up a side job: Uber Eats. Sam’s rescue mission from the first episode gets a new twist in the art, as he flies up to the side of a plane with the Uber Eats bag. It’s certainly a funny explanation for how Sam is making his money these days. Check it out down below.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has already earned praise for taking a closer look at the smaller details that make up a superhero’s life, from the money situation to how they cope with trauma. With new threats like the Flag-Smashers and Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) on the way, it can be assumed there will be plenty of the typical Marvel excess on the way. However, it’s clear that when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actually gets to dive into the quieter moments, it will thrive.
As Sam said in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s premiere, he’s earning money through some government contracts. However, the episode ended with a rather stunning betrayal from the government, as it picked a new Captain America after Sam donated the shield to the Smithsonian. It isn’t clear if he’ll continue to work with them after this, so perhaps he really will need to pick up a job like Uber Eats. Of course, with all those aforementioned threats on the way, he probably won’t have much free time on his hands, but it’s still a funny scenario to consider.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues Friday on Disney+.
