#230: Damsels in Distress (2012)

If you asked me two months ago about my critical opinion on the works of indie-darling director Whit Stillman, I’d have slapped you in the face with a slippery fish. Not because I hate you – I don’t, you’re lovely, by the way – but because I’d never seen any one of his four films. I know, I’m clearly the one asking to bashed by a seabass.

But I’ve done good. Along with my compatriot Mads Kjeldgaard, I’ve now seen the man’s entire back catalogue. That’s right, four films! Released in cinemas earlier this year Damsels in Distress is the last Whit Stillman joint, centring around a crew of girls on the pursuit of yuppie hood at a New York state college.

I’ve resurrected my old school audio review format for this one. Let me and Mads into your ears for fourteen minutes. It’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done.

IMDb it.

Damsels in Distress is available now on DVD and Blu-Ray all over the place.
