This mystery without the mystery simultaneously borrows from classic chill found in suspense stories, whilst also displaying the narrative pretty bluntly from thirty minutes and onwards. In place of twists and turns, Polish-born director Sluizer focuses on the character portrayal of husband Rex. Years on from the unresolved abduction of his girlfriend Saskia, we see a man on the edge and, as clues finally start to come in, we know things are about to tip over. Nonpareil.
THE GOOD: The unashamedly corny, post-Bladerunner synth soundtrack.
THE BAD: At all costs, avoid the Hollywood funded remake starring Kiefer Sutherland. Now that’s one Lost Boy man.
